The New Boston Inn was originally built in 1737. The pub is
paneled with Kings Wood, and was used to train soldiers during the
Revolutionary War. It also served as a hospice for the
soldiers during the same time period.
The ballroom has vaulted ceilings and the floor was originally
hung on chains because of the many dances that were held here in the
early twentieth century.
The inn has played host to many famous personalities over the
past century. Ann Lindbergh wrote her memoirs here. Liz
Taylor and Richard Burton were often spotted in the pub, and Bing Crosby
dropped by occasionally. But by far, our most famous guest is
Harriet, who has taken up residence here since 1805. This
young lady was murdered here on her wedding day by a spurned suitor,
and has roamed the halls ever since.
